Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist Capleton delivered a blistering performance on the opening night of the 26th World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), turning Windsor Park Sports Stadium into a sea of raised hands, waving flags and roaring fans. The show took place on Friday, October 23, 2026, in Roseau.
Known to fans as one of dancehall’s most fiery performers, Capleton drew a large crowd to the stadium on the festival’s first night. The audience stayed engaged for the duration of his set, with the stadium filled with movement and energy from start to finish.
The World Creole Music Festival is one of the most anticipated events on Dominica’s cultural calendar, celebrating the island’s Creole heritage alongside regional and international music. Bringing an artist of Capleton’s standing to open the 26th edition underlines the festival’s reach beyond Dominica’s shores, and it draws visitors as well as Dominicans at home and across the diaspora to the capital for the occasion.
For residents, the opening night marked the start of a festival season that brings music, dance and community gatherings to Roseau, with Windsor Park serving as a central venue for the performances.
