The funeral of Theresa Joseph, known to family, friends and the Newtown community as Bolo, will take place on Friday, 25th September 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima in Newtown, with the body to be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home for viewing at 2:30pm. The funeral Mass begins at 3:00pm and will be followed by interment at the Roseau Catholic Cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her beloved adopted son, Delano Thomas, and her partner, Lornicks Raymond. She is also survived by her brothers, John Peter and Martin Peter, and by a wide circle of nieces and nephews. Her nieces are Josephine, Dindin, Janet, Sharon, Nanet and Princess, while her nephews are Fedel, Awab, Patrick and Desmond, who is also known as «Boloboom».
The family circle extends to sixteen grand-nieces, eleven grand-nephews, eight great-grand-nieces and eight great-grand-nephews. Among her cousins is Kelvin Francis, and she was also close to the Thomas family of Giraduel. Her close relatives include the Emmanuel family and the Baptiste family.
Bolo was equally cherished by a broad network of friends and community members. Among those named as close friends are Ma Cynthia, Cyrilla, Cartoon, Spikes, Father Francis and Sonia. Her passing will also be felt deeply by members and friends of the Harlem Football Sports Club, Montego Bay Boys, members of the Thunderbirds Band, the community of Newtown, and the Honourable Cherkia Hypolite.
The arrangements place the funeral at the heart of Newtown life, at a church that has long served the community, with burial to follow at the Roseau Catholic Cemetery. The notice reflects the many circles in which Bolo moved — family, church, sport, music and neighbourhood — and the wide reach of the loss across Roseau and beyond.
