Young Dominicans will have the chance to explore career paths, connect with professionals and prepare for a rapidly changing world of work when JCI Dominica hosts Future Fest 2026 on Friday, September 25, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is being held under the theme «Navigating Careers in a Changing World: Adapt, Innovate, Succeed», reflecting the need for young people to remain adaptable, embrace innovation and develop the skills and mindset required to thrive in an evolving job market.
Future Fest 2026 is designed as an interactive space where young people can do more than simply think about their future — they can begin experiencing, exploring and creating it. The programme will feature interactive booths, youth engagement activities, networking opportunities, wellness initiatives, educational sessions and giveaways, bringing together young people, professionals, organisations and other stakeholders for an experience that combines learning, connection and fun.
According to Future Fest 2026 Committee Chair Shakell Charles, the initiative is about ensuring young people have access to the knowledge, people and opportunities they need to make informed decisions about their futures.
«Future Fest 2026 is being organized as a dynamic platform where young people can explore their future, discover opportunities, meet professionals, build connections and gain practical knowledge to help them navigate their future, careers and their personal development,» Charles said.
Charles further emphasised that preparation for the future should extend beyond traditional education, highlighting the importance of giving young people opportunities to actively shape their own paths.
«JCI Dominica believes that young people should simply be prepared for the future. They should be given the tools and opportunities to actively create it,» he said.
Following the momentum of previous editions, Future Fest 2026 aims to create an even more vibrant environment where young people can ask questions, discover possibilities and make meaningful connections. From career exploration and professional networking to wellness and personal development, the event is designed to meet young people where they are while encouraging them to think boldly about where they want to go.
