The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force has issued a Pink Alert for a missing teenager, 14-year-old Kenan Peters of Eggleston.
According to the police notice, Peters was reported missing by Brenderlyn Xavier, also of Eggleston. The notice states that Peters was last seen by his sister, Joan.
A Pink Alert is issued by the police when a child or vulnerable person is reported missing, and it signals that the public's help is being sought to locate the individual safely. The alert places the matter before the wider community in the hope that anyone who has seen the teenager, or who knows where he may be, will come forward.
Peters is a resident of Eggleston, a village in the Roseau Valley. The police notice does not give a description of what he was wearing when he was last seen, nor does it state the time or place of his last sighting beyond the fact that his sister was the last family member to see him.
Members of the public who have information about Kenan Peters' whereabouts are asked to contact the police. The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force has not said whether any particular circumstances surround his disappearance, and no further details have been released at this stage.
Missing-person cases involving minors are treated as a priority by the police, and the Pink Alert mechanism is intended to widen the search beyond the immediate family and village. In a small island community, alerts of this kind rely heavily on residents in the surrounding area keeping watch and reporting anything that may assist officers.
Anyone who believes they have seen Kenan Peters, or who has information that could help locate him, should contact the nearest police station or the police emergency line without delay. The police have asked that any sighting or relevant detail be reported directly to them rather than shared informally.
The police have not indicated how long the alert will remain in force. Further updates are expected as the search continues.
