Andrie “Audrey” Francis (née Williams), affectionately known as “Ma Mark”, of Caribe Delices, who resided at Upper Kings Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital. She was 79 years old.

Mrs Francis was preceded in death by her sister, Marcelin Williams, and her brothers, Joseph and Thomas Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 53 years, Mark Francis, and their children: Rev. Marcus Francis, Dr. Ernie Francis-Baptiste, Dorcus Francis-Simon, and Ray Francis. Her daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, Mary Francis, Wayne Baptiste, and Terry Simon, also mourn her passing, along with her adored grandchildren Nathan, Naomi, Jude, Jasmine, Nick, and Kaiden.

She is survived by her siblings Lucy Williams, Catherine Williams, Mona Isidore, Joan Esprit, Elaine St. Jean, Nathalie Auguiste, Linda Jno Baptiste, and Martha Jno Baptiste. Her brother-in-law Henry Esprit and sisters-in-law Agnes Williams, Regina Francis, Jacqueline Francis, and Martina Francis also remain. A wide circle of special family and friends, including Derek Common, Henrietta Matthew, Albertha and Rev. Ericson George and family, Eliza Degallerie, Natasha and Rev. Lloyd Vidal, Rev. John and Jasmine Lambert, Rosemond Nicholas, Tumpe Trotter, Sherra Francis-Williams, Rosannah Royer, Solange Francis, and Rachel Francis, are among those who mourn.

Her nieces and nephews — Matthew, Roosevelt, Bertillia, Edmund, Johnny, Paul, Anthea, Judy, Connie, Joanne, Steve, Elkin, Andrew, Odile, Gilbert, Donald, Leon, Leslie, Lenny, Jeanel, Hurbert, Beverley, Benjamin, Ian, Laurel, Lynn, Melissa, Roland, Sharma, Vanessa, Joel, and Josiah — together with several grand-nieces and grand-nephews, also survive her. Many cousins, including Solange Williams, Dr. Cassandra Williams (Parliamentary Representative of Delices), Frances Williams, Goddard, Kay Kay, Sonson Williams, Cynthia Williams, Lena Peltier, Francis Thomas, and Lucille, are among the bereaved.

Mrs Francis was connected to the extended Thomas and Williams families of Delices. Neighbours and friends, including Muriel Stuart, Helena and Henderson Robin and family, Julian Bernabee Roberts, Muriel Walsh and family, Mary Vidal and family, Presley and Josephine Boyd and family, Mr. Gabriel Bruno and family, Daniel Jno Baptiste and family, and Pastor Troy Benjamin and family, also mourn her loss.

She held church affiliations with the Newtown Christian Union Church, the Christian Union Churches of Dominica, and the Delices Pentecostal Miracle Temple. The communities of Kingshill and Delices, along with many other relatives and friends both in Dominica and abroad, are left to mourn.

The body of the late Andrie “Audrey” Francis will be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, to the People’s Pentecostal Family Church in Goodwill. Viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Delices Public Cemetery.
