The Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) has announced a scheduled service interruption affecting customers in Loubiere, Pte Michel, Wall House and Fond Baron on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
According to the utility, water supply will be cut between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. that day to allow crews to install new pipes in the area.
DOWASCO is advising residents and businesses in the four communities to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the interruption, including storing water for drinking, cooking and sanitation during the nine-hour period.
The affected areas lie along the southern coastal corridor near the capital, Roseau, and include a mix of residential neighbourhoods and small businesses that depend on the piped supply for their daily operations.
The company said the work is part of its ongoing programme to upgrade and replace ageing pipelines, which is intended to reduce leaks and improve the reliability of service over the longer term.
Customers are asked to plan for the full duration of the outage, as supply may not return immediately at 6:00 p.m. while the system is repressurised and any airlocks are cleared from the lines.
DOWASCO has not indicated that any other communities will be affected by the works. Residents in the four named areas who have questions about the interruption are encouraged to contact the company directly through its usual customer service channels.
The utility regularly issues advance notice of planned interruptions so that households, schools, clinics and businesses can prepare, and it has asked customers to treat the schedule as firm unless further notice is given.
